Talent for Numbers + Passion for Clients = Success!

My passion is doing what I do best which is being a full cycle bookkeeper and payroll manager at Bonstar Accounting Services Inc.  Most people think my profession is simply number crunching.  It's much more than that - what I do on a daily basis is very rewarding and important.  I love my profession and choose to do it because my job allows me the opportunity to solve business problems and implement solutions to achieve the desired results.  I collaborate with the different departments as this allows me to learn and understand the operational units and understand how my client's company works.

Assisting with process improvements whether it is introducing new processes or simply redesigning the old ones to achieve the company goals, is a satisfying accomplishment.  I feel I am not just a bookkeeper and payroll manager for my clients but a business partner who has an equal stake in whether my client's business is successful or not.

My talent is strong analytical and computer skills along with the ability to synthesize data, to identify and perdict possible outcomes combined with teamwork, innovation, initiative and communication.  Communication is vital in my profession.  Many of the people I work with have little formal training in bookkeeping or payroll.  The ability to communicate in clear terms to tell them what you have accomplished for them is essential.  Communication is also key to effective teamwork and building a professional network of clients including not only other accountants but IT professionals and others whose work overlaps with mine.

The most important thing I have learned in my life is that nothing beats hard work.  It is not only talent and intelligence that counts - hard work is also necessary if you want to succeed, even when things are going well.

The empowering beliefs I take on to help me achieve my goals is to embrace new challenges.  This is an opportunity for growth in my business as well as personally.  Encountering new challenges is a chance to develop a new set of skills, become more valuable, grow relationships, and grow job satisfaction.  Challenges in business can seem like huge boulders, but if you change your perspective you can turn them into stepping stones for growth and success.

"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.  In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it." - Maya Angelou
